The SDSU Supercomputer named "Gordon" is protected by ISO-Base technology installed by Hazard Reduction Systems. Gordon's name is inspired by the science fiction legend "Flash Gordon."
Only after the most rigorous investigation and testing, did San Deigo State University elect to use ISO-Base as the preferred method of protecting their supercomputer from the damaging ground effects of an earthquake.
Gordon is currently the most powerful supercomputer in all of Southern California based on speed and capability. Gordon was recently ranked among the top 50 supercomputers in the world. It is the most powerful high-performance computing (HPC) system today when it comes to accessing data.
